A scrub exfoliates to remove dead skin and is best used once or twice a week, while a lotion hydrates and can be applied daily. Use the scrub first, then follow with a lotion to lock in moisture.

What should I choose for dry skin in the Mauritian climate?

For dry skin, look for richer body creams and butters rather than light lotions, and apply just after showering while skin is damp. In Mauritius, sun, sea and air-conditioning can all dry the skin, so daily moisturising helps keep it comfortable.
